I’m an engineering lead, and on nights and weekends I build My Storyland — a small literary-travel app that maps where books actually happen.

My Storyland takes a book you love and hands you back a real place you can go — the streets it was written on, the cafés its characters sat in, the cemetery a whole chapter turns on.

A while ago I stopped building it alone and set up a team of AI agents: a product manager, engineers, QA, a designer, and lately a small marketing department. It’s still a pet project — but the team now runs around the clock, and my job has shrunk to the one thing that should actually require me: taste. I write about how that works in Field Notes.
